At that time we didn&#8217;t imagine that we were laying the foundations of a band. And even less that one of these two tracks would one day illustrate a sequence of an episode of the American series &#8220;Dexter&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The project was born with Ben Mosca, a school friend in Paris. When we met as teenagers, we agreed that good music was Dire Straits and Iron Maiden. Later Ben would expand my musical culture, introducing me to Hip Hop as well as Black Uhuru, King Tubby and the purpose of tape echo chambers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div class='flex_column itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Our experiments, naive but inspired, seduced the ear of our friend Alexis (aka Alexkid) who proposed us to produce these tracks. He wanted to give them the sparkle they deserved, to work on the production by going further than the traditional dub. The duo naturally became a trio, and Dubphonic released its first EP on the prestigious Chicago label Guidance Recordings, then the album Smoke Signals (Taktic music) in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Our happy crew was later joined by <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/3bSssiQSG9B49M6G8bJ5yq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DJ Seep<\/a> (Kid Loco \/ Jay Jay Johanson) and slam poet <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blacksifichi.com\/news_sifichi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blach Sifichi<\/a> (Brain Damage \/ Ez3kiel). We are also lucky to have our tracks embellished by the talent of guests and friends (or both) from diverse backgrounds. The singers Ceu, Liset Alea, Daniella d&#8217;Ambrosio, or the instrumentists Jean-Philippe Rykiel, J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Poirier-Quinot, Olivier Mateu (aka Rodriguez Junior), Christian Lechevretel, Micha
